Sjögren's Disease is a chronic autoimmune condition in which the body’s immune system attacks moisture-producing glands. This leads to persistent dryness, especially in the eyes and mouth.
Dry eyes
Burning, stinging, and gritty sensation in the eyes
Dental issues
Difficulty swallowing,
speaking
Fatigue
Persistent exhaustion affecting daily activities
Joint pain
Swelling and stiffness in
joints
Sjögren’s Disease predominantly affects women between the ages of 30 and 50, especially those in midlife. In India, this autoimmune condition is frequently underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed due to symptom overlap with other disorders. Recent Indian studies suggest a growing prevalence, especially among middle-aged women presenting with persistent dry mouth, dry eyes, or systemic fatigue.
